SEGMENT 1: Market Pulse Brief (~2.5 min)
MUSIC β warm pulse, 5s fade in
Eva: Good morning. It's Friday, September 25 β Market Pulse Brief with Eva.
AU: ASX200 8702, -0.7% β a second soft session with banks and BHP weighing. BHP 61.02 -1.7%, giving back yesterday's gains and breaking back below the 50d line β resources not as firm as Wednesday's tape suggested. CBA 149.98 -0.7% β two consecutive soft days, still below 50d. ANZ 37.43 -1.1%, WES 73.87 +0.1% (flat). WDS 31.61 +1.5% β the lone green in a soft resource complex, snapping back from Wednesday's -1.7%. Uranium pullback deepens: PDN 9.92 -2.3%, BOE 1.625 -2.7%, DYL 1.30 -3.7%. Trend intact but the short-term tape is heavy β all three under their 50d lines. STX 0.115 flat at lows, no relief.
HK: Overnight US session was muted β no fresh catalyst for HK direction. Tech-heavy selling from mid-week has not followed through hard. Watch whether open rebuys the dip or drifts with the ASX lead.
US: SPY 767.54 flat, QQQ 740.90 flat β a quiet, low-volume session with no real direction. NVDA 224.19 -0.6% still the main drag on tech; TSLA 380.99 +0.2% the lone green. GLD 390.81 -0.4% and TLT 79.91 -0.7% both softer β a rates-driven day again, not equity panic.
Context: Two consecutive sessions where bonds + gold down + equities mildly softer = yields repricing higher, not a macro break. Australia tilted the wrong way today (BHP down, banks flat-down, WDS up); the divergence within resources is the story. Uranium names' continued dips are profit-taking within an uptrend, but the short-term tape is heavy β DYL at 1.30 is now approaching its 52-week low zone.
Evas Read: Quiet risk-off tape continues. Ticker-only priority: watch whether BHP stabilises near 60-61 and CBA near 149-150 β banks below 50d are the local soft spot and BHP breaking back below is not a great sign for the resource complex short-term. Uranium pullback is now three sessions deep β DYL below 1.35 is the one real weakness flag in the pack; the rest of the complex is holding structure but momentum has stalled. HK open at 11:00 AEST will set the tone β wait for the open, don't chase overnight moves.
That's the market wrap for Friday, September 25. Numbers are indicative, not advice.
MUSIC β short transition, 2s
SEGMENT 2: Eva's Corner (~1 min)
Eva: And now, a moment for something different. Eva's Corner β one idea to sit with today.
Markets reward patience more than prediction. The traders who last are not the ones who call every turn β they are the ones who position carefully, size sensibly, and let the theme do the work. Choose the ground you stand on, then let time compound it.
Until next time β this has been Market Pulse Brief with Eva. Five minutes. The market, then a breath.
