Services pricing model — the 3 add-ons + core package
Services pricing model — the 3 add-ons + core package
Young's four services: domain name · Office 365 email · Medusa+POS+AI+20GB storage+bandwidth · (AI model basis: GO $10/mth/USD/workspace)
Rate: A$1.55 = US$1 (Oct 2026). All prices AUD unless marked USD.
1. Domain name (.com.au)
| Component | Cost/mo | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Reseller wholesale | A$2.08–3.33 | industry standard A$25–40/yr ÷ 12 |
| Our price to tenant | A$5.00 | 2–2.5× wholesale, includes DNS management |
Margin: A$1.67–2.92/mo. Thin on purpose — the domain is the anchor that makes the package feel complete, not the profit centre.
2. Office 365 Email
| Component | Cost/mo | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Microsoft 365 Business Basic (AU) | AU$10.50/user | microsoft.com/en-au, live-fetched 2026-10-14 |
| Our price to tenant | A$15.00/user | 1.43× Microsoft, includes setup + alias management |
Margin: A$4.50/user/mo. M365 is pass-through at a modest mark-up — we're selling the setup and management, not the licence.
3. Medusa + POS + AI + 20GB Storage + Bandwidth
3a. Storage (20 GB Block Volume, Balanced)
| Component | Cost/mo | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Oracle Block Volume Balanced | US$0.0425/GB-mo | oracle.com/cloud/storage/block-volumes (blog, 2026) |
| × 20 GB | US$0.85/mo | |
| At 1.55 | A$1.32/mo |
Margin: bundled into package.
3b. Bandwidth
| Component | Cost/mo | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Oracle outbound data transfer | 10 TB/month free | docs.oracle.com Always Free |
| Typical tenant usage | 100–500 GB/mo | storefront + POS traffic |
| Cost | A$0.00 | within free allowance |
Margin: bundled. 10 TB is enormous headroom — a tenant would need to serve ~300 GB/day before egress costs appear.
3c. Medusa + POS compute
Tam's measured full stack: ~4.8 GB RAM, ~0.5–1.0 OCPU steady. On our shared node:
| Allocation model | Compute cost/tenant/mo |
|---|---|
| 4 tenants sharing node | A$4–5/mo |
| 2 tenants sharing node | A$8–10/mo |
| Dedicated node | A$15–20/mo |
(At Oracle A1 Flex PAYG: ~US$0.01738/OCPU-hr + US$0.00139/GB-hr, amortised.)
Margin: bundled into package. The compute is the cheapest component — the value is in the orchestration, not the CPU.
3d. AI (GO $10/mth/workspace basis)
Young's ruling: AI model price basis = OpenCode GO at US$10/month/workspace = A$15.50/mo.
Two models:
| Model | AI cost/tenant/mo | When |
|---|---|---|
| Shared GO (our fleet workspace) | A$1.55–3.10 | 5–10 tenants sharing one GO subscription |
| Per-tenant GO (tenant's own workspace) | A$15.50 | tenant needs isolated model access |
Pilot recommendation: shared GO. At 5+ tenants, the per-tenant AI cost drops to A$1.55–3.10 — inside the package price. Per-tenant GO is the fallback for tenants who want isolated model routing.
Free-first ladder still applies: route tenant AI through free models (longcat, space-bunny, etc.) before touching GO. Marginal cost → near zero at bundled volumes.
3e. Core package cost summary
| Component | Cost/tenant/mo (shared) | Cost/tenant/mo (per-tenant GO) |
|---|---|---|
| Storage 20 GB | A$1.32 | A$1.32 |
| Bandwidth | A$0.00 | A$0.00 |
| Compute (shared node) | A$4–5 | A$4–5 |
| AI (GO basis) | A$1.55–3.10 | A$15.50 |
| Total variable | A$6.87–9.42 | A$20.82–21.82 |
Transactional email: A$31/mo fleet-wide (Resend Pro). See §3f.
3f. Transactional email (Resend)
Provider: Resend (default), O365/Graph (per-tenant opt-in).
Decision: medusa-notification-channels-and-email-provider-2026-10-20.md (commit 7a2f7c4).
| Component | Cost/mo | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Resend Pro (fleet account) | US$20/mo = A$31/mo | resend.com/pricing |
| Emails included | 50,000/mo | |
| Overage | US$0.90/1,000 = A$0.0014/email | |
| O365 path (tenant opt-in) | A$0 | rides tenant's own M365 |
Ruling: email is a free included line. The fleet Resend Pro subscription (A$31/mo) is a fleet-level operational cost, absorbed into the package price. No per-tenant metering, no separate line item.
Fair-use cap: 50,000 emails/tenant/month (the Resend Pro quota). Overage at A$0.0014/email is negligible and absorbed.
Why not the free tier: Resend Free has a 100/day cap — a busy tenant would silently fail on order receipts. Pro eliminates the daily cap.
Why not metered: the cost is A$31/mo fleet-wide. At 4 tenants that's A$7.75/tenant/mo — inside the existing margin. Metering infrastructure would cost more than the email itself.
O365 path: A$0 to us. Tenant owns their M365 licence and Entra app registration. No pricing impact.
4. Full package pricing PROPOSED
Solo — A$119/mo
| Component | Price | Cost | Margin |

| M365 Email (1 user) | A$15 | AU$10.50 | A$4.50 |
| Transactional email (Resend) | A$0 | A$31.00 | −A$31.00 |
| Total | A$119 | A$50.25–54.25 | A$64.75–68.75 (54–58%) |
Shop — A$229/mo
| Component | Price | Cost | Margin |
|---|---|---|---|
| Medusa + POS + AI + 20GB + BW + staging | A$179 | A$8.87–11.42 | A$167.58–170.13 |
| Domain name | A$5 | A$2.08–3.33 | A$1.67–2.92 |
| M365 Email (3 users) | A$45 | AU$31.50 | A$13.50 |
| Transactional email (Resend) | A$0 | A$31.00 | −A$31.00 |
| Total | A$229 | A$73.45–77.25 | A$151.75–155.55 (66–68%) |
Transactional email: included in the package price (Resend Pro, fleet account). See §3f. No separate line item, no per-tenant metering.
Extra location — +A$75/mo
| Component | Price | Cost | Margin |
|---|---|---|---|
| Second POS site (same backend) | A$75 | A$2–3 | A$72–73 |
5. Unit economics at pilot scale (yukonit)
| Scenario | Revenue/mo | Cost/mo | Margin | Cumulative |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 tenant (Solo + domain + email) | A$119 | A$50.25–54.25 | A$64.75–68.75 (54–58%) | A$64.75–68.75 |
| 2 tenants | A$238 | A$69.90–77.50 | A$160.10–168.10 (67–71%) | A$224.85–236.85 |
| 3 tenants | A$357 | A$89.35–100.75 | A$267.65–277.65 (75–78%) | A$492.50–514.50 |
Break-even: tenant #1, day one. The margin is labour (onboarding, support), not infra. The Resend Pro fleet cost (A$31/mo) is included in the cost column above.
6. What I could NOT calculate (stated, not estimated)
| Item | Why | What would close it |
|---|---|---|
| Oracle PAYG compute excess | node runs 4 OCPU/24GB, Always Free covers 2/12 | Young's OCI billing check (already flagged in v2) |
| M365 reseller vs retail | Microsoft blocks bot fetches; AU$10.50 is retail | if we have a reseller account, the cost may be lower |
| Domain registrar | same — A$25–40/yr is industry standard, not a specific quote | pick a registrar, get real wholesale |
| AI conversation volume | depends on tenant usage patterns | yukonit pilot data (first 30 days) |
7. Pilot: yukonit
First tenant. Solo tier: A$119/mo (Medusa+POS+AI+20GB+BW + domain + 1 M365 user).
What yukonit gets: full stack on shared node, domain registered, M365 user provisioned, POS on 2 tablets, AI receptionist live.
What we learn: real AI conversation volume, onboarding time per tenant, support load, whether the A$119 holds.
8. Product offerings (Mira + Echo, 2026-10-18)
New offerings surfaced by the Mira + Echo study of eve.dev/templates,
medusajs.com/starters, nuxt.com/templates and Hostinger. Each is a named,
priced bundle riding the same Nuxt + Docker stack. Pricing anchors from
business-plan-v2-aud-allowance.md and services-pricing-model-aud.md §1–§7;
new lines below are the additions.
8.1 KnowledgeBase managed hosting (P1)
- What: Nuxt/Docus site + vault-mirror pipeline + domain + email. Client writes markdown (or talks to an EVE agent); we host and publish. Showcase: docs.youngle.au itself.
- Built on: Docus (Nuxt 4 + Nuxt Content + Nuxt UI + Tailwind 4) — Vercel template
nuxt/docus★3,117 MIT. - Price anchor: bundled in Solo (A$119/mo). Standalone managed hosting: A$5/mo domain + A$1.32/mo storage (20 GB) + A$4–5/mo compute share = A$10.32–11.32/mo variable + A$15/user/mo M365 if email included. Entry single-site managed KB: A$25–35/mo (domain + storage + compute + 1 M365 user, margin on management).
- Margin: labour (onboarding + content port), not infra. Break-even tenant #1.
8.2 BusinessOnline landing (P5)
- What: Landing (Nuxt UI Pro) + domain + Office365 + contact/agentic chat button. Entry tier for prospects who need a web presence, not commerce.
- Built on: Nuxt UI Pro Landing ★402 MIT (now free + MIT in v4).
- Price anchor: A$5/mo domain + A$15/user/mo M365 + A$4–5/mo compute share + A$1.32/mo storage = A$25.32–26.32/mo variable. Sold at A$49–59/mo (entry tier, monthly, cancel anytime — positioning vs Hostinger's A$3.49 intro with 48-month lock-in and A$15.89 renewal; corrected 2026-10-21 — was A$4.39).
- Positioning: monthly, no lock-in, branded, managed. Not competing on raw hosting price (we lose, ~14–17×). Competing on outcome + no lock-in.
8.3 AIAgent hosting standalone (P4)
- What: EVE (or ai-chatbot) instance per client with tenant-scoped memory + HIL gates. Standalone for shops who already have a site; bundled with P2/P3.
- Built on: EVE agent templates (vercel/eve ★5,591 Apache-2.0, beta) — chat w/ per-user long-term memory, LLM council, software factory, marketing team, etc. Alternative runtime: vercel/ai-chatbot ★20,995 (NOASSERTION — check NOTICE).
- Price anchor: benchmarked against Hostinger managed Hermes A$7.29/mo
(AU page, 24-month term, renews A$17.39; global USD page $4.99/$11.99) (generic,
no code customisation). Our offer is tenant-tuned with per-business memory + POS
adjacency. Price: A$49–79/mo standalone (AI cost A$1.55–3.10/tenant/mo on
shared GO; margin is labour + tuning). Bundled in Solo/Shop at no separate line.
⚠️ Corrected 2026-10-18 — this line originally read $19.99/mo. See
[hostinger-managed-ai-verification](hostinger-managed-ai-verification). P4 standalone is our most price-exposed product: at $5.99 Hostinger is a far cheaper substitute for an agent-only buyer. ⚠️ Corrected again 2026-10-21 — $5.99 is gone from every Hostinger page; live is $4.99 (global) / A$7.29 (AU, renews A$17.39). See[hostinger-pricing-reverification-2026-10-21](hostinger-pricing-reverification-2026-10-21). The exposure is worse, not better. - Note: EVE is beta — pin
@workflow/*per tenant; adopt for tenants first, fleet later.
8.4 OpsDashboard v2 (P5/P7)
- What: Nuxt UI Pro Dashboard for internal fleet dashboards (v1), then sellable client ops dashboards (v2). Charts, date pickers, resizable panels, command palette, data tables.
- Built on: nuxt-ui-pro/dashboard ★1,093 MIT.
- Price anchor: internal v1 first (no separate price). v2 client ops dashboard pricing TBD — depends on widget scope and per-tenant data integration with Medusa Admin API. Anchor: A$29–49/mo add-on to Shop tier once v2 ships.
- Constraint: must not be conflated with our own fleet dashboard (different
audience, different deployment) — see
admin-backend-decision-medusa-vs-nuxtui.md§5.
8.5 Pulse/investing site (P6)
- What: Docus (same stack as P1) for Young's own investing/research lane. Already live: pulse.youngle.au (200).
- Price anchor: internal — not a sellable product. Cost: shared infra (A$4–5/mo compute share + A$1.32/mo storage). No revenue line.
8.6 Managed hosting (P7)
- What: Docker per tenant on prod node. Raw hosting for tenants who want none of the above complexity.
- Price anchor: A$5/mo domain + A$1.32/mo storage + A$4–5/mo compute share + A$0.00 bandwidth = A$10.32–11.32/mo variable. Sold at A$29–39/mo (managed, monitored, backed up) — above Hostinger's A$3.49–11.59 intro (corrected 2026-10-21 — was A$4.39–11.59) but monthly with no lock-in and with per-tenant isolation (not shared).
- Capacity: 4 tenants per node (4.8 GB each) or 6 small (3 GB). 5th tenant = new node (step-function in cost model).
8.7 Tier ladder impact
The new offerings slot into the existing tiers without changing Solo/Shop prices:
| Tier | AUD/mo | Now includes |
|---|---|---|
| Solo | A$119 | Medusa+POS+AI+20GB+BW + domain + 1 M365 user + transactional email (Resend) + KnowledgeBase (P1) + BusinessOnline (P5) landing + AIAgent (P4) receptionist |
| Shop | A$229 | Solo + AI sales+support (3,000 conv/mo) + staging + priority support + 3 M365 users + transactional email (Resend) + OpsDashboard v1 (internal) |
| Extra location | +A$75 | second POS site, same backend |
| Standalone add-ons | A$25–79/mo | KnowledgeBase managed (A$25–35), BusinessOnline (A$49–59), AIAgent hosting (A$49–79), Managed hosting (A$29–39), OpsDashboard v2 (A$29–49, TBD) |
— mira, 2026-10-20 — the Marketing/Social add-ons are now priced and land on this rail. Ruling: add-ons, not a new tier — Solo A$119 / Shop A$229 unchanged. EVE Marketing Assistant A$39 · Social Media Management A$49 (3 Meta channels) · bundle A$79 · extra Meta channel +A$15 · X channel +A$29 (20 posts incl, metered after) · WhatsApp platform line A$49 (metered; allowance ≤179 marketing templates/mo for the price to hold 60% margin). Both add-ons require Solo or Shop — not sold standalone. Full reasoning, cost model, competitive anchors and the WhatsApp envelope:
[marketing-social-addon-pricing-2026-10-20](marketing-social-addon-pricing-2026-10-20). Live-verified platform costs (2026-10-20): Meta charges nothing to publish on Facebook / Instagram / Messenger / Threads (the cost is App Review + token refresh, not dollars); X is pay-per-use since Feb 2026 (US$0.015/post, US$0.200 with a link — a 13.3× penalty, hence the separate metered line); WhatsApp is per delivered message — AU is in Meta's "Rest of Asia Pacific" region at A$0.1095 per marketing template, with 1,000 free service messages per phone number per month (so a typical tenant's EVE CS conversations cost A$0.00). Evidence file landed beside the decision doc:meta_whatsapp_aud_rate_card_2026-10-01.csv(sha2560fd348d6…).— mira, 2026-10-20 (card t_1d1257c3) — the WhatsApp metering model is now RULED, and it corrects one line above. Hybrid: the A$49 WhatsApp platform line includes 150 delivered marketing messages/tenant/month, then metered overage at cost + 20% (A$0.1314 marketing, A$0.0178 utility/service). The line is sold separately from the Social add-on — never bundled free. 150 is inside the ≤179 envelope (and holds 66.5% margin on the true Meta-cost basis, not 60%).
— mira, 2026-10-20 22:45 (card t_c2f6df57) — ⚠️ A$0.1314 is the AU rate only. It is
A$0.1095 (Rest of Asia Pacific) × 1.20, and Meta charges by the recipient's country calling code. The billing rule isoverage_rate(recipient_country) = Meta rate(country) × 1.20; at a single AU rate we lose A$0.0763/msg on Netherlands recipients and overcharge an India or Turkey audience tenant up to 8×. The A$49 line, the 150 allowance and the hybrid model are unchanged. Two open items added — see[whatsapp-metering-verification-2026-10-20](whatsapp-metering-verification-2026-10-20). 🔴 Correction to the line above: "a typical tenant's EVE CS conversations cost A$0.00" now holds only to ≈500 conversations/month (2 messages each) on one phone number — Meta resumed charging service messages on 1 Oct 2026 (1,000 free per business phone number per month, then A$0.0148). Also: AU is a region ("Rest of Asia Pacific"), not a standalone market; marketing has no volume tier at any volume; and the RoAP marketing rate was INCREASED on 1 Oct 2026 (Meta gives 1 month's notice, 4×/yr) → a rate-review clause is mandatory. Structural finding: as a Solution Partner we become "Bill To Party" and liable for every tenant's Meta spend, so the default is the tenant owns the WABA and pays Meta directly (Tech Provider) and we do not resell the platform. Full record:[whatsapp-cost-metering-model-2026-10-20](whatsapp-cost-metering-model-2026-10-20). ⚠️ The Shopify AU anchor below is stale — live pricing is Basic A$42 annual-billed (A$56 monthly) + POS Pro A$129 = A$171/A$185 inc-GST, not A$197. Correction applied in the decision doc; this file and the two business-plan docs still carry the old figure pending Young's confirmation of the anchor basis.
8.8 Margin summary (new offerings)
All new offerings are labour-priced, not infra-priced: infra variable cost is A$10.32–11.32/mo (domain + storage + compute share + bandwidth) and AI is A$1.55–3.10/mo on shared GO. Transactional email is A$31/mo fleet-wide (Resend Pro, see §3f). Break-even tenant #1, day one, in every case. The binding constraint is ops labour (onboarding, support, content port), not infrastructure.
8.9 Hostinger positioning (carried)
Hostinger entry A$3.49/mo (AU page, 48-month lock-in, renewal A$15.89) —
previously A$4.39, which is the global page price, not AU. Managed Hermes
A$7.29/mo (24-month term, renews A$17.39) — corrected 2026-10-21; this line
previously read $5.99/$11.99, which previously read $19.99
([hostinger-managed-ai-verification](hostinger-managed-ai-verification), [hostinger-pricing-reverification-2026-10-21](hostinger-pricing-reverification-2026-10-21)).
We are
~34× Hostinger's entry hosting price and ~16× their agent entry price on raw
hosting — fine only if we
sell a different product (managed commerce + AI + KB stack). Pitch: "We are not a
cheaper Hostinger. We are the managed Medusa + POS + EVE + KB layer you would
otherwise have to build and maintain yourself." Full study:
hostinger-product-pricing-study.md.
Echo, 2026-10-21: Hostinger's AU and global pages disagree, and both are Black Friday promotional prices read 2026-10-21. Quote the AU page (the one our AU customers see) and always say which locale and whether it is intro or renewal. The gap is larger than this line previously stated.
9. Product catalogue detail — entries and licence position (Echo, 2026-10-18)
Young, 2026-10-18: "these are the products that we are offered as services,
study it and add to services-pricing-model-aud.md" — naming eve.dev/templates,
medusajs.com/starters, nuxt.com/templates.
This section carries no prices. §8 above prices the products; this section is
the catalogue evidence behind them — how many entries each catalogue holds,
which licence each rides, and which are excluded. Full study:
[products-as-services-grounded-2026-10-18](products-as-services-grounded-2026-10-18).
9.1 The three catalogues, counted (live, 2026-10-18)
| Catalogue | Entries | Licence | Supplies |
|---|---|---|---|
eve.dev/templates | 18 | eve Apache-2.0 | AI staff / agent services |
medusajs.com/starters | 12 | MIT core, starters open-source | commerce backends + storefronts |
nuxt.com/templates | 43 | MIT site; per-template varies | sites, dashboards, docs, landing |
eve.dev and medusajs.com render client-side — a static fetch of eve.dev
returns 847 of 4,754 rendered characters, so both were read through a browser.
9.2 Licence position — the constraint that shapes the ladder
| Entry class | Position | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| Medusa core + starters | MIT | ownable, resellable ✅ |
| Docus | MIT | our docs stack ✅ |
| eve | Apache-2.0 | resellable ✅ |
| Agilo Retail POS | MIT | resellable ✅ |
| Nuxt MIT templates | MIT | resellable ✅ |
| Nuxt Premium templates (12) | per-project licence fee | excluded by default ❌ |
The 12 premium Nuxt entries (Charts Planner Dashboard, Nuxt Starter Kit, Charts Dashboard, Charts Dashboard shadcn/vue, DailyHub, Materio Admin, Nuxter, Shadcn Landing Pro, Sokol eCommerce Minimal, Spike Admin, Supastarter, SuperSaaS) cannot be resold without buying a licence each time. They are not in the ladder.
9.3 Products beyond §8's P1–P7 (catalogue additions)
§8 covers P1 KnowledgeBase · P2 Commerce · P3 POS · P4 AIAgent · P5 BusinessOnline/OpsDashboard · P6 Pulse · P7 Managed hosting. The catalogues support four further products, offered here as candidates for Mira to price:
| # | Product | Rides | Licence | Why it is separable |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| P8 | B2B portal | Medusa B2B Starter | MIT | company accounts, quotes, spending limits — a different buyer |
| P9 | Configurator storefront | Medusa Made-to-Order (TanStack) | MIT | live price updates — genuine upsell for custom goods |
| P10 | Internal knowledge agent | eve Company Brain | Apache-2.0 | answers staff, not customers — separate from P4 |
| P11 | Marketplace | Medusa Rigby | MIT | commission/split-cart logic = separate business model, not an add-on |
Excluded from the ladder: the Slack-only and vendor-locked eve templates (Contentful, Sanity, Datadog, Typefully, Linq) — they sell someone else's integration, which the tenant would need anyway.
9.4 Two reconciliations needed before a tenant sees the ladder
- POS priced twice. §4's extra-location add-on (+A$75/mo) and §8.7's "second POS site, same backend" are the same thing. §8's P3 software and the per-site charge must be split explicitly, or a tenant will be quoted twice.
- Duplicate filename.
product-catalogue-vercel-grounded.mdexists twice — indecisions/(Mira, 106 lines) andresearch/(Sol, 76 lines) — as two different documents under one name, so every[product-catalogue-vercel-grounded](product-catalogue-vercel-grounded)wikilink resolves ambiguously. One must be renamed.

Product catalogue — our services as products
Young, 2026-10-17: "work on which products we should offer based on Vercel Example — they give us a platform to showcase our services."
WhatsApp metering — the ruling
Ruling: a hybrid. A small included allowance, metered overage at cost + 20%, and the WhatsApp platform line sold as a separate A$49/mo line — not free inside the Social add-on.
